How Iron Snag Developed Bob & Buddy on bridge Iron Snag is a company located in Springfield, Oregon.  It was created by Bob and Jan Lile as our interest in gardening grew.  In 2001 we moved to a 4-acre piece of property that was over run with blackberries.  As we undertook the project of reclaiming the land, unique challenges with gardening grew.  Many of the plants we like are large and need support to stay upright. Using stakes and tying up the plants seemed to be a never ending project and did not result in displaying the garden to its potential. We also have deer on the property that enjoy grazing on our plants and unfortunately are not intimidated by our dogs. Our dogs too are a joy to us although they do enjoy running and collide with the plants, they also lie down where ever they choose. After almost losing several young azaleas, the idea of plant protection and support developed. We have truly enjoyed creating garden art and find it provides us a wonderful release.
